Potential New Art Classes!

The 2008-2009 School Year may bring exciting, new classes to the Art curriculum. Express an interest and support progression of art education in your school by enrolling in these classes! If enrollment requirements are met the courses will be open to 9th-12th graders and co-taught by Mrs. Pierson and Mrs. Holland. AP credit may be earned by Juniors and Seniors who participate.

Course Description: "Diversity in the Arts" - Experience the works of diverse contemporary artists, who have persevered and obtained successes while alive and thriving in the art world. Trained and self taught, professional artists will be introduced through personal workshops, demonstrations, slide lectures, modern text, Internet research, PowerPoint presentations, virtual and/or real gallery tours. Celebrate the differences of these modern creators, gain exposure, and broaden your life experience through their art, stamina, and spirit!

Course Description: "Art and Technology" - Make great strides in your digital portfolio next year with qualitative and quantitative technological artwork. Students will be offered experience in modern software programs and with relevant equipment to enhance work in graphic design, freelance, computer imaging, and animation. Such programs will commensurate with entry level university courses. Open your mind to advanced possibilities of art and technology!
